Description

The Director of Corporate Fundraising is responsible for leading and executing a comprehensive corporate engagement strategy to drive philanthropic revenue and build meaningful partnerships aligned with the mission of the organization. A key aspect of the role is understanding each donor’s philanthropic goals and tailoring opportunities to deepen their involvement and investment in the Club’s work. This position requires a deep understanding of event-based fundraising, a proven ability to lay the groundwork for successful solicitations, and confidence in managing the full solicitation process—including forming effective solicitation teams and personally closing major corporate asks.

Duties And Accountabilities

Corporate Engagement And Solicitation:

  • Articulate the key value of the Club that is visible in the community, representing the positive brand image of the organization
  • Utilize key relationships with people in common with the Club; map a plan for cultivation
  • Personalize the donor’s involvement in learning about the Club’s mission and offer exposure to the mission 
  • Understand the donor’s philanthropic goals and create alignment with the mission
  • Experience and understanding of event-based fundraising
  • Able to effectively lay the groundwork for solicitation, and know the solicitation process with the ability to close asks
  • Determine the solicitation team and roles

Corporate Stewardship:

  • Follow the stewardship plan as outlined
  • Encourage and ensure corporate engagement
  • Track donor retention rate
  • Develop Corporate ROI reports annually
  • Follow through, customer service, and professionalism are all essential to success 

Administrative Compliance:

  • Complete all required reports and administrative duties on time. 
  • Gather and manage the necessary data, as well as handle both internal and external reporting
  • Comply with all administrative policies and procedures, processes, and controls
  • Accountable for accurate and timely paperwork, reports, and data entry
  • Responsible for utilizing all BGCGTC communication tools regularly and effectively

Facility & Safety:

  • Accountable for adherence to all organizational health and safety policies and implementation of all safety practices and procedures at assigned work location(s)
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect members, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities. Abide by facility maintenance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Accountable for reporting incidents and completing documentation within the required timeline
  • Maintain discipline, de-escalate conflict between members and/or others

Relationships:

  • Be a positive role model 
  • Maintain emotional control and make good decisions under pressure
  • Represent the Boys & Girls Club in a positive manner

Attendance:

  • Regular attendance is required; arrive on time; punctuality is required

Nonessential Duties:

  • Complete all other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education And Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent professional experience
  • 3 - 5 years of fundraising or sales experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Demonstrated fundraising experience with a fundraising track record of increasing levels of success.
  • Demonstrated success as an individual contributor to the overall success of a fundraising team.
  • Ability to work regular business hours, periodic nights, and weekends as needed
  • Ability to lead and motivate the work of a diverse, decentralized group of individuals, including volunteers and professionals in fundraising or sales activities that produce sustained and improved results over time
  • Ability to plan, lead, and shape organizational change and growth resulting in tangible progress towards stated operational and strategic goals.  
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and knowledgeably in both the written and spoken word. 
  • Demonstrated success managing relationships with varied community stakeholders
  • Must have working knowledge of creating budgets and managing expenses
  • Must have a working knowledge of fundraising or sales practices and philosophies
  • Must be able to pass agency background screens and drug screens at any time
  • Must have reliable transportation, liability insurance, a satisfactory driving record, and a valid driver’s license for operation of a motor vehicle relevant to carrying out duties

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Management or supervisory experience
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge
  • Experience with volunteer programs
  • Past success with competitive written RFP processes
  • Work experience with or program knowledge of the Boys & Girls Club Movement (national and/or local Club) is an advantage
  • Experience in a non-profit environment

Pay And Benefits:

  • Pay: $65,000 - $75,000 yearly
  • Benefits: Eligible for health, vision and dental coverage; 401(K) plan and flexible spending accounts; life insurance; and short and long-term disability. Paid Time off (PTO) and company-paid holidays.
