 As the Director of Strategic Accounts, Corrections, for BHG, you will play a pivotal role in leading our sales and business development activities across key markets in the criminal justice (corrections) sector. This role is ideal for a driven individual with a proven track record in selling in the Criminal Justice sector. You will be forming new referral pathways between criminal justice clientele and our outpatient addiction recovery centers. The candidate will bring a strong network or the ability to build one within federal, state and local prison systems, reentry programs, parole, probation, recovery courts and jails. Your efforts will directly contribute to the growth of our client base and the improvement of lives impacted by addiction.

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy focused on the U.S. criminal justice market to meet business goals.
  • Manage and nurture relationships with key decision makers in criminal justice and correctional facilities as it pertains to offenders that are identified as having substance or opioid use disorder.
  • Navigate and understand the complex criminal justice system, including bidding and contract negotiations.
  • Lead and support the development of proposals for government contracts, including responding to RFPs/RFQs, coordinating internal resources for bid submissions, and ensuring compliance with applicable procurement regulations.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities and expand BHG market share by developing and maintaining partnerships with various criminal justice entities.
  • Propose solutions that address the unique needs of this clientele while also aligning with BHG’s value proposition and operational capabilities.
  • Secure educational opportunities for BHG key opinion leaders that results in strengthening referral partnerships, builds BHG reputation and reduces stigma.
  • Ensure that sales activities and any solutions offered comply with the specific security protocols and regulations governing correctional facilities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of each account, track key metrics, and provide regular feedback and reports to the criminal justice entities and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in national events, workshops, and conferences to educate the public about our services and resources for opioid addiction recovery.
  • Provide ongoing support to Regional Outreach Managers as defined by the SVP, Sales & Marketing, to enhance their ability to engage with criminal justice to promote our services effectively and increase admission volume to BHG.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices in substance use disorder, addiction treatment and recovery to inform outreach strategies and maintain compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public health, criminal justice or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in senior-level sales or business development, preferably in the criminal justice (corrections) sector.
  • Experience with government contracting processes and the RFP lifecycle within the criminal justice or healthcare sectors strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Track record of success in securing national and regional key account business that results in measurable revenue growth to an organization.
  • Ability to analyze data across multiple platforms to formulate plans, monitor progress and report productivity.
  • Knowledge of addiction treatment and recovery services, including familiarity with evidence-based practices and regulatory requirements a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivation and initiative for working independently and proactively.
  • Creativity and innovation are key to generating new ideas and solutions to form high value referral relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM software or database management.
  • Willingness to travel regularly (~75%) and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate account activities and events.
