Clinic Special Procedures Tech

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a casual, as needed Clinic Special Procedures Tech to work alongside our Byrd Center Cardiovascular Department. 

 

Under the general direction of the Director of Outpatient Cardiology the Special Studies Technician will accurately and efficiently perform, record, and report cardiac stress tests and echocardiographic studies to aid the physician in diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disease. 

Qualifications

• Junior College/Technical School, with classes in biological science, human anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, routine EKG testing required. 
• AHA BLS required. 
• Registered in Adult Echocardiography required. 
• Registered in Pediatric Echocardiography preferred. 

The kind of position-related experience includes:

• Skills and competencies for providing extensive non-invasive cardiac studies as well as assisting the physician with invasive cardiac studies

• Proficient in performing and/or assisting the physician in the following special procedures:
• Echocardiogram (2D, M-Mode, Doppler, Doppler color-flow for neonate, pediatric, and adult)
• Stress Echocardiogram
• Treadmill
• Electrocardiogram
• Transesophageal echocardiogram
• Typing
• Windows proficiency and other computer skills.
• Organizational skills
• Adaptable to changeable working circumstances, while maintaining a caring and patient manner.
