The Role:
Joining Moderna offers the unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering team that's revolutionizing medicine through mRNA technology, with a diverse pipeline of development programs across various diseases.
As an employee, you'll be part of a continually growing organization, working alongside exceptional colleagues and strategic partners worldwide, contributing to global health initiatives.
Moderna's commitment to advancing the technological frontier of mRNA medicines ensures a challenging and rewarding career experience, with the potential to make a significant impact on patients' lives worldwide.
Moderna is solidifying its presence within our international business services hub in Warsaw, Poland, a city renowned for its rich scientific and technological heritage. This hub provides critical functions, meeting the growing demand of Moderna’s global business operations. We're inviting professionals from around the world to join our mission and contribute to the future of mRNA medicines.
As part of our global HR Operations function, this is a high-impact role for a skilled HR professional who thrives on ownership, collaboration, and process innovation. You’ll manage HR service delivery for both US and Canadian populations from Moderna’s Warsaw-based international hub, acting as the regional escalation point while helping to scale and evolve HR operational capabilities. This role requires deep expertise across Workday, compliance controls, and process optimization, with a focus on building intuitive, audit-ready, and scalable support for Moderna’s dynamic and growing workforce.
You’ll lead day-to-day HR operations delivery across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience from onboarding to offboarding. You will partner with key global stakeholders—HRBPs, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Compliance—to maintain alignment, accountability, and strong regulatory adherence. With a mindset grounded in service excellence, you’ll contribute to the design and digitization of global processes, champion self-service, and ensure Moderna's operations meet the highest standards of control, compliance, and responsiveness.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Your key responsibilities will be:
Serve as the escalation point for HR operational matters across the US and Canada, providing hands-on case management and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
Lead and coach a small team within HR Operations, while informally guiding cross-functional shared services supporting North America.
Own and execute lifecycle processes in Workday, including hires, job changes, and terminations, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and process compliance.
Partner closely with HR Business Partners, Payroll, Legal, Benefits, and Compliance to troubleshoot complex cases and optimize service integration.
Lead HR Operations preparation for audits, including SOX and internal controls, in partnership with the Global Compliance Lead.
Your responsibilities will also include:
Monitor and improve data integrity through regular audits and remediations.
Create and maintain employee-facing knowledge content, ensuring intuitive access to HR policies and guidance.
Drive transformation initiatives focused on automation, digital service delivery, and increased self-service.
Flex hours as needed to coordinate effectively with US-based colleagues and stakeholders.
Actively represent HR Operations on cross-functional initiatives, championing best-in-class service delivery practices for the North American employee population.
The key Moderna Mindsets you’ll need to succeed in the role:
“We behave like owners. The solutions we’re building go beyond any job description.”
In this role, you’ll own the end-to-end delivery of HR operations for two critical geographies. You’ll be expected to make decisions with impact, act autonomously, and lead from the front—even without direct authority.“We digitize everywhere possible using the power of code to maximize our impact on patients.”
The role offers a strong opportunity to get close to Moderna’s growing GenAI ecosystem and apply automation and self-service strategies to digitize our HR delivery model. You will help identify and implement new tools and technologies that improve efficiency, reduce friction, and enable scalability.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in HR, Business, or related field.
5+ years of experience in HR operations or shared services, with at least 2 years in a lead role, ideally in a fast-paced, US-focused environment.
Deep understanding of North American HR compliance and lifecycle processes, with proven experience in managing or improving operational controls.
Hands-on experience with Workday (or similar HRIS) and a case management system such as ServiceNow.
Curiosity about how technology, automation, and AI can improve employee experience and streamline operations—you're eager to learn and experiment with new tools that support scalable HR service delivery.
Strong analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across levels and functions.
Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is a strong plus.
Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
A collaborative mindset, a bias for action, and a desire to continually improve and simplify.
