Staff Electrical Engineer, BOP, Commercial Service

What To Expect

From Tesla’s EMEA headquarters in Amsterdam, you will be the technical authority for medium- and high-voltage Balance-of-Plant (BOP) equipment that supports our Tesla Energy Service department. You will combine deep electrical expertise with hands-on field experience to maximize asset uptime, safety and performance across all of our operational assets in EMEA. Working closely with Field Service, Engineering, EHS and Reliability teams, you will deliver advanced remote troubleshooting on balance of plant, own HV/MV switching operations and champion continuous improvement initiatives—all while travelling up to 50 % within the region. 

What You’Ll Do

• Provide electrical subject matter expertise to the Balance of Plant program, aligning technical decisions with business objectives and compliance requirements.
• Execute preventative and corrective maintenance plans for Balance of Plant equipment. 
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure efficient communication and implementation of best practices. 
• Supervise and support subcontractors during maintenance activities. 
• Identify and proactively mitigate risks related to BOP equipment, maintaining adherence to relevant industry standards and regulations. 
• Lead advanced troubleshooting of protection relays and BOP equipment, both remotely and during on-site field visits, providing guidance and technical oversight to field teams and subcontractors. 
• Partner with Engineering and Reliability teams to develop robust solutions to fleet-wide technical issues, enhancing BOP equipment reliability and performance. 
• Promote and support electrical safety culture through active participation in safety processes and related procedure development 
• Develop BOP knowledge across the teams through training and coaching 

What You’Ll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience 
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as Electrical Engineer, O&M Engineer, Service Engineer or Project/Design engineer of large-scale energy facilities 
• Proven experience in working cross-functional and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve program goals 
• Strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to industrial electrical projects 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex information and make data-driven decisions 
• Certifications to work on HV equipment for UK, France, Belgium or Netherlands is a plus
