Established in 2000, the College of International Education (CIE) is a self-funded unit of the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), offering full-time Associate Degree (AD), Higher Diploma (HD) and Undergraduate (UG) Honours Degree Programmes at the Shek Mun (Shatin) campus. It is a major education providing unit of the School of Continuing Education (SCE), one of the Faculties/Schools of HKBU. CIE currently enrolls over 3,500 students and is committed to the University’s mission of providing quality whole-person higher education with a Christian heritage. English is used as the medium of instruction at the College. Applications are now invited for the following position:
Lecturer I / Lecturer II in Film Production (25260158)
The program invites applications for the position of Lecturer I / II in Film Production. The successful candidate will take a leading role in curriculum development and accreditation of a higher diploma programme in film production. This position involves integrating the latest industry practices and advancements in AI filmmaking into the curriculum, as well as building and maintaining relationships with industry professionals and organisations. Candidates should possess relevant knowledge and/or experience in the following fields:
- AI in filmmaking
- Cinematography and Lighting
- Directing and Cinematic Storytelling
- Emerging Technologies in Film Production
- Production Design and Management
Applicants should have a post-graduate degree in related disciplines and have substantial experience in film production in the AI era. Teaching or industry experience in film production, television production, or new media production is essential. Significant experience and connections in content creation for streaming platforms, or proficiency in new production techniques such as virtual production and AI filmmaking, will be advantageous.
The appointee will be required to (i) develop and enhance the programme curriculum for accreditation; (ii) actively engage in industry networking to build and maintain relationships with professionals and organisations; (iii) perform teaching duties in related disciplines; (iv) provide academic guidance to students and supervise student projects; (v) coordinate with part-time teaching staff, professional bodies, and external stakeholders; and (vi) assist in administrative tasks such as promotion, admissions, internships and student activities.
Candidates with less experience will be considered for the post of Lecturer II.
Reference Salary Range:
- Lecturer I : HK$51,000 - HK$86,000
- Lecturer II : HK$38,000 - HK$53,000
- The appointee will work at the Shek Mun (Shatin) campus.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in August 2027. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
