Research Associate, Community Health Sciences

The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality, and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises of five major operational sections: Epidemiology & biostatistics, Health policy & management, Population & reproductive health, Environmental health & climate change, and non-communicable diseases & mental health.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.
 

Job Role / Responsibilities:

• monitoring the data collection process in the field, evaluating and ensuring the accuracy of the data
• writing a weekly report
• coordinating with the project supervisors to discuss field related activities
• provide training to the staff as per the protocols and guidelines of study
• oversee the project, simultaneously, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research related activities
• ensure all research related auditable materials are always up to date
• liaison with Government Hospitals
• monitoring all components of the project in the field, evaluating, and ensuring the accuracy of the data.

• at least a Bachelor's degree ; a Master's in social sciences will be preferred

• at least three to five years’ of related experience in community based research projects

   

• excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• ability to work well in/with multidisciplinary teams
• excellent verbal and written English, Urdu and Sindhi language skills, as required for the job role
• enthusiasm to work in community setting and travel to field sites.
