We are looking for a Desktop Support Specialist to join our growing team.

The chosen candidate will play an important role in configuring, maintaining, and overseeing our company's array of IT resources, including, workstations, laptops, printer, and some cloud services. Your primary responsibility will be to assist and support our users in their day to day working day and ensuring their equipment, caters to their needs. This will also include the participation, integration and management of our cloud services, as needed.

What will you be doing?

  • Configure, and maintain IT infrastructure including desktops, peripherals, operating systems, standard and custom desktop applications in accordance with the change management process, industry and security best practices.
  • Assist the IT Team to adhere to our management processes and applying our security best practices.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various platforms and applications.
  • Ensure the stable operation, availability, reliability, and serviceability of the company's IT services, workstations and office networks.
  • Maintain and update the IT asset register, ensuring accurate records of all hardware, software, and licensing information.
  • Use and manage the internal ticketing system to track, prioritize, and resolve support requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist in nurturing a culture of data and network security within our organisation.
  • Provide orientation and training to end-users during onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Act as a first line support to end-users.

Who Are You?

  • You have a flair for IT and / or some system administration experience.
  • Basic knowledge of network services, monitoring WiFi and Internet services.
  • Strong working knowledge of operating systems including Windows, macOS, and mobile devices.
  • Willing to learn new technologies, such as monitoring tools, remote management tools and access management.
  • Knowledge of services such as antivirus or desktop device agents.
  • A good knowledge of Internet technologies and concepts.
  • Industry certifications in ITIL, and relevant field such as cloud providers, network, and hardware vendors are considered an asset.
