Job Overview

The Parts Sales Specialist I is responsible for fulfilling parts orders, managing parts inventory, and providing excellent customer service and technical expertise to all walk-in, online, and telephone customers. This position requires an acute attention to detail, commitment to resolving issues the same day, as well as the ability to establish positive relations with vendors, customers, Sales/Service/Product Representatives and other related TMH Departments. Excellent customer service is the driving force for this position, providing the same level of service to all internal and external customers.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Provide superior customer service to all internal, walk-in, online and telephone customers.
  • Provide quick response in answering all phone and email inquiries. 
  • Use all resources necessary to ensure the customer needs are met as quickly as possible.
  • Expedite and advise customers and TMH colleagues on the status of all backordered items.
  • Process returns from customers and vendors (RTV’s)
  • Works with and communicates regularly with fellow Branch team members to help each other provide an outstanding experience for the customer.

Parts Sales

  • Process parts orders for customers as well as Road and Shop Technicians.
  • Achieve monthly Parts Sales goals.
  • Provide parts information to Service Advisors to ensure accurate and timely quotes (within 24 hrs.) as requested, providing status until closed.
  • Return parts to stock and bin location as needed.
  • May be required to pick up and deliver equipment and parts as directed by Parts and Service Department.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • High School diploma
  • 1-2 years in parts shipping, receiving, or inventory related role
  • 2-3 years of experience in customer service or other customer facing role
  • Professional manner in person and on the phone with customers
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; willingness to communicate transparently even when it’s hard
  • Detail oriented with strong organization, time management and proven math skills
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities in a changing environment 
  • Ability to work under pressure and use good business judgment
  • Ability to work independently and with others to problem solve and drive continuous improvement
  • Personally accountable and committed to follow-through to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ability to use a variety of information technologies is essential, including e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)

Desired

  • 2+ years of experience working in a material handling / industrial environment with parts sales
  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration

Physical Environment:

  •  Position operates in a professional office environment with the requirement to visit and walk around a warehouse with fluctuating temperatures.
  •  Spend most days seated at a desk, working at a computer terminal to input data, handle phone calls, and exchange electronic messages.
  •  Use the computer as a telephone, messenger, and work tool, so expect to wear a headset and use both a keyboard and mouse frequently throughout the day.
  •  Regularly sit, stand, and walk for long and short distances.
  •  Hear with or without correction to be able to interpret and receive information and directions.
  •  Communicate, verbally and in written form, regularly to describe and explain detailed, important, and accurate instructions internally and directly with customers.
  •  Occasionally lift and/or move material up to 25 lbs.
  •  Occasionally to regular climbing, crouching, stooping, and kneeling.
  •  The noise level is usually moderate.
