Maintenance/Janitorial

Overview:

The maintenance position, under limited supervision, performs work of general maintenance; basic plumbing, electrical work, painting, light carpentry, pressure cleaning and HVAC maintenance.

Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work:

• Full-time position. 
• Hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Some weekends or evening hours as necessary.

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Performs daily maintenance of facility with necessary repairs.
• Moves inventory/furniture when necessary.
• Sets up equipment as needed.
• HVAC Maintenance
• Assists with performing plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall, pressure cleaning and electrical work.
• All other duties as assigned.

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items/furniture over 50 pounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of handyman/maintenance experience preferred.
• Security consciousness.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Have a positive attitude to work.
• Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Must be able to work well with other school staff and conduct themselves in an appropriate, professional manner
• Ability to travel between our Broward school campuses as needed.
• Must be able to communicate in English
• References are required.
