Ontario Line South

Our team is mobilizing its design and construction crews, with major works to commence in 2023. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.

The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.

What is the project?

  • A six-kilometre tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River)
  • Stations:
  • One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station
  • Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations
  • Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown.

Job Description

  • Assist the Integration Manager in managing and coordinating MEP Services with Civil and Architectural trades including the Rolling stock Systems.
  • Progress Reporting – MEP Integration Management
  • Coordinate with CTO (Construction Technical Office) \ BIM Coordinators \ Design Team.
  • Liaise \ Mediation with BIM Coordinators, Technical and Construction team as needed.
  • Help teams in answering MEP coordination related comments on design documents and Subcontractors shop drawings.
  • Carry out Spatial coordination which includes the clash detection and reports ensuring appropriate rules and standards are compliant.
  • Participate MEP Integration weekly meeting with SCs – CTO.
  • Review of RSSOM Federated BIM Model – Clash detection analysis.
  • Prioritize the multidisciplinary Coordination (MEP, Civil, Archi) in relation with Site Team.
  • Focus on MEP coordination in congested areas (Corridors, Technical rooms, etc...).
  • Create typical sections with the support of the BIM Team.
  • Review \ Comment SHD from SCs.
  • Log \ track MEP issues
  • Mitigate the MEP clashes considering the Civil and Architectural constraints.
  • Coordinate the MEP openings in main structure and partition walls.

Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Minimum 8 years of proven experience in similar activities
  • Previous experience in BIM Modeling, Revit and CAD is must.
  • Previous experience in shop drawing review and MEP Coordination will be an advantage
  • Experience of international projects and in Railway projects
  • Should be involved in Project completion and Handover activities
  • Good communication and presentation skills, systematic and able to carry out tasks with minimum supervision. Demonstrates expertise in report writing and group presentation and facilitation.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Direct hands-on experience with comprehensive knowledge and understanding of MEP Coordination, standards and practices to ensure effective review and implementation.
  • Broad knowledge of the railway environment and engineering practices at MEP, Civil and Architectural aspects.
  • Fluency in English is a must (written & spoken).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse group of professionals and to motivate and build positive synergy within the team

  • MS Office, Revit and AutoCAD proficiency
