Medical Assistant Pulmonary Function Tech-Pulmonary Consultants

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant/Pulmonary Function Technologist to join our Pulmonary Practice team. In this role, you will support both administrative and clinical functions while working closely with physicians and advanced practice providers. You will also perform pulmonary function testing and non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures that are essential for patient diagnosis and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient medical histories and vital signs

• Prepare patients and examination rooms for visits and procedures

• Assist providers during exams and treatments, including injections, sutures, and specimen collection

• Perform pulmonary function, lung capacity, and diffusion capacity tests under physician direction

• Collect and prepare lab specimens; perform arterial punctures and blood gas analysis

• Maintain accurate records, respond to urgent patient needs, and provide follow-up calls per provider instructions

• Sterilize instruments, maintain a clean environment, and ensure equipment is functioning properly

• Manage scheduling, medical records, billing, and other office duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant

• Current BLS (CPR) certification required

• Ability to demonstrate full competency and pass skill assessment within 30 days of hire

• Basic computer skills required
