Senior Lecturer and Course Coordinator in Counselling

About The Role

• Ensuring the activities of the School are operated effectively and efficiently, providing a quality service to the students and staff.
• Lecturing in agreed subject areas, at least 3 units per semester, and managing teaching and assessment of units being delivered.
• Contributing to course coordination, program development and curriculum design.
• Producing research and scholarship that informs learning and teaching, and curriculum innovation and development.
• Providing academic administrative support to the Head of School and other academic staff.

Selection Criteria

• Hold a PhD qualification in Counselling or related field (i.e. Psychology, Social Work or Human Services).
• Lecturing and teaching experience (3+ years experience would be an advantage).
• Hold professional accreditation with a recognised counselling body such as PACFA or ACA.

Essential:

• Committed Christian, involved in a local congregation.
• An understanding of current and emerging trends in Counselling Education and training.
• Ability to teach and model practical, real-world skills to students and early-career professionals.
• Experience in teaching and course coordination at a tertiary level, incorporating scholarship and research.
• Experience in curriculum design, development and modification.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with staff and students.
• Technological literacy and previous experience in online education is desirable.
• Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to diversity and ability to work with students, staff, and administrators, including pastoral skills in mentoring staff and supporting students.
• Full Australian working rights.
