What We're About
At Vitacress, we grow more than just fresh produce – we grow fresh ideas. Our mission is to create a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable food environment. That starts with a hygiene team that’s switched-on, hands-on, and proud of the vital work they do behind the scenes.
Your Role in the Team
As a Hygiene Operative, you’ll be part of the team that keeps our factory running to the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety. It’s a role for someone who takes pride in doing things properly, works well with others, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.
What You'll Be Doing
• Helping us stay ahead of hygiene and food safety standards – your work directly impacts the quality of what we deliver.
• Making sure all factory equipment and areas are cleaned thoroughly and safely, following our cleaning instruction cards (CICs).
• Using the right tools, methods, and protective gear to get the job done safely and efficiently.
• Supporting new team members through buddying and on-the-job training, when asked.
• Taking part in hygiene audits and reacting positively to feedback and improvement plans.
• Flagging up any faults or damage to equipment before or after cleaning – your eyes and actions matter.
• Following health, safety, and food safety procedures – and speaking up if something doesn’t look right.
• Lending a hand to teammates to help hit our daily targets – we’re all in this together.
What You'll Need
• A positive, proactive attitude – someone who gets stuck in and cares about doing a great job.
• An eye for detail – especially when it comes to cleanliness and food safety.
• Willingness to work in a wet, chilled environment using cleaning chemicals and long hoses.
• The ability to follow processes and health & safety rules to the letter.
• Previous hygiene experience is useful but not essential – full training will be given.
Working Conditions
• You'll be working in a cool, damp environment – PPE is provided to keep you safe and comfortable.
• Cleaning will involve handling chemicals and heavy-duty equipment like long hoses.
• Flexibility is key – some days may involve other tasks that match your skills and training.
