Assistant Nurse Manager - Pediatric Continuity of Care - (25005066)

Description

 

The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Nursing, is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to perform specific tasks to assist members of the Nursing team in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager. 

The Assistant Nurse Manager will support both Inpatient Nurse Clinicians and outpatient Nurse clinicians  . The Assistant Nurse Manager will assist in facilitating the progression of care across the continuum for the hospitalized patients through collaboration with the interdisciplinary team which includes but is not limited to patient care staff, providers, patient support, family, and community resources.

 Percent of Time: 100%

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Day Shifts, Monday-Friday

Qualifications

 

Education Required

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is required
  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire

Experience Required

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience with demonstrated skills in leadership
  • Minimum of 3-5 years recent pediatric experience in a tertiary hospital setting
  • Experience leading/managing transitions of care
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer software applications (such as Microsoft programs)
  • Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills, decision making, critical thinking skills, time management, organization of workload, delegation, attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Demonstrates effective teaching skills for staff and patient education

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Professional Master of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA).
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with case management.
  • Minimum 3 years of Clinical RN experience.
  • Certification in a role or specialty through a nationally recognized professional nursing certification body is desired.
  • Experience and knowledge with Medicaid Guidelines
  • Experience working in EPIC
