Role Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Equity Research Associate to join our Equity Research Strats team. The successful candidate will support senior analysts in providing in-depth research, financial modeling, and actionable investment insights to institutional clients. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Industry & Company ResearchConduct deep-dive analysis of companies, industries, and market trends to support investment recommendations.Maintain sector knowledge through financial statements, management discussions, and relevant data sources.
• Data and automation:
• Financial Modeling & Valuation
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, including revenue forecasts, earnings estimates, and valuation frameworks (DCF, comparables, precedent transactions, etc.).
• Track company results, estimate revisions, and assess impacts on investment theses.

Develop comprehensive understanding of relevant databases and technology solutions to elevate data analysis for stocks/sector under coverage

Automate and maintain key data-driven reports

Acquire, clean, maintain, and analyze data sets to identify trends and patterns

In addition to building expertise in data, the equity strat should acquire broad knowledge of stocks and industries to successfully interpret data into meaningful recommendations.

• Research ProductionAssist in drafting research reports, industry primers, and company notes with actionable insights for institutional clients.Provide timely commentary on breaking news, earnings releases, and key industry developments.
• Client EngagementSupport senior analysts in responding to client requests for data, analysis, and follow-ups.
• CollaborationWork closely with sales, trading, and investment banking teams to provide sector expertise and maintain compliance standards.Liaise with company management teams, industry experts, and regulators as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (MBA/CFA preferred).
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or related analytical role strongly preferred.
• Skills:
• Attributes: Highly detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and quantitative analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into clear, actionable insights.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar tools.
• Extensive experience with the Pandas library in Python, plus some mastery of Python as a general purpose language
