Position Summary

Technical Systems Integration (TSI) seeks a Mid-Level Training Systems Integration specialist to support the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) Surface Warfare Technical Division (SWTD) in Dahlgren, VA. This role focuses on ensuring compatibility and interoperability of Navy training technologies across all levels of training systems. The successful candidate will coordinate the integration of new training technologies with existing systems, resolve technical integration issues, and support the design and development of training systems across IAMD, ASW, and SUW warfare areas.

Essential Functions

Training System Integration & Compatibility

• Ensure compatibility and interoperability of new training technologies with existing systems across all levels of Navy training systems
• Provide recommendations on resolution of integration issues to maintain host combat system and training system architecture stability and performance
• Coordinate integration of Multi-Mission Team Trainer (MMTT), SQQ-89 Advanced Capability Build (ACB) trainers, and Combined IAMD/ASW Trainer (CIAT) systems
• Support Advanced Training Domain (ATD) integration and interoperability requirements

Stakeholder Coordination & Project Management

• Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure project milestones are met in the design, development, and delivery of training systems
• Work across all warfare areas (IAMD, ASW, SUW) to support training system integration initiatives
• Facilitate communication between training system developers, combat system engineers, and end users
• Manage integration timelines and coordinate testing and validation activities

Technical Documentation & Analysis

• Understand and document integration processes, system configurations, and technical shortfalls
• Develop white papers, system roadmaps, and training requirements documents related to system integration
• Create technical documentation supporting training system architecture decisions and integration solutions
• Maintain configuration management documentation and integration status reports

System Testing & Validation

• Support testing and validation of integrated training systems to ensure proper functionality
• Coordinate with technical teams to resolve integration issues and system conflicts
• Validate that integrated systems meet training requirements and operational specifications
• Support user acceptance testing and integration verification processes

Requirements

Experience:

• 2+ years of experience with Advanced Training Domain (ATD)
• 3+ years of recent experience working with Navy computer-based trainers or simulators supporting IAMD, ASW, and SUW warfare areas
• 3+ years of recent proficiency with Multi-Mission Team Trainer (MMTT), SQQ-89 Advanced Capability Build (ACB) trainers, or Combined IAMD/ASW Trainer (CIAT)

Required Technical Skills:

• 3+ years of recent proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access (database management and entry)
• Understanding of training system architectures and integration methodologies
• Knowledge of Navy computer-based training systems and simulator technologies
• Experience with system configuration management and technical documentation

Required Competencies:

• Strong technical problem-solving and integration troubleshooting capabilities
• Understanding of combat system and training system interoperability requirements
• Ability to coordinate with diverse technical stakeholders and manage complex integration projects
• Knowledge of Navy training requirements and system validation processes

Preferred Qualifications

Technical Expertise:

• Experience with additional Navy training simulators and computer-based training systems
• Knowledge of system engineering principles and integration best practices
• Familiarity with software integration, API development, or system architecture design
• Understanding of Navy training system certification and accreditation processes

Domain Knowledge:

• Experience with IAMD, ASW, and SUW combat systems and their training requirements
• Knowledge of Navy training standards and instructional systems design principles
• Understanding of fleet training requirements and operational training scenarios

Professional Background:

• Previous experience with Program Executive Office (PEO) organizations or training system contractors
• Background supporting Navy training system development, integration, or testing activities
• Experience with Defense acquisition processes and system engineering practices

Compliance Requirements

• Security Clearance: SECRET (current and active)
• Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required
• Background Check: NCIS background check required
• Travel Requirements: Moderate travel up to 25% for integration support, testing events, and stakeholder coordination

• Ability to work in standard office and technical facility environments
• Extended periods of computer work involving system integration and technical analysis
• Ability to attend meetings, testing events, and coordinate with technical teams
• Occasional work in training facility environments and simulator spaces
