About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a seasoned and strategic leader to head Public Affairs & Communications for the India and Philippines region. This role will oversee key functions including External Affairs, Corporate Communications, Philanthropy & Community Impact, and Corporate Meetings & Events, while also providing oversight to the global delivery team for marketing support under Public Affairs organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing regional public affairs strategies that enhance Wells Fargo’s reputation, drive stakeholder engagement, and align with global business priorities.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the Public Affairs function across India and the Philippines, setting strategic direction and serving as a member of the regional leadership team.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all Public Affairs matters, both internally and externally.
- Manage and develop high-performing teams across communications, media relations, philanthropy & community engagement, and meetings & events.
- Foster a culture of talent development and inclusive leadership.
- Oversee internal and external communications strategies, including executive messaging, employer branding, and media relations.
- Develop and execute storytelling strategies that promote the brand and thought leadership.
- Support senior leadership town halls and high-impact events, including planning, logistics, and content development.
- Direct and oversee media relations including serving as lead spokesperson, overseeing PR agency and coordinating interactions with national and international outlets.
- Track and measure communications outcomes to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry bodies, government officials, and key external stakeholders.
- Provide thought leadership and market insights to address complex challenges and support enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Ensure key risk programs for the organization across safety and physical security, resiliency, third party, privacy etc. are adequately managed for the region.
- Drive efficient and effective planning, decision making and service delivery across the region through process improvements and simplified and standardized tools and resources.
- Collaborate with global teams and establish an integrated approach to drive regional priorities. aligned to global approach and priorities.
- Partner closely with the management of Finance, Human Resources, Technology, Corporate Risk, Audit, Controls, Operations and business groups.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Public Relations, Media Relations or Corporate Communications experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
- Experience working in a multi-national financial services organization with exposure to managing India and the Philippines regions
- Proven leadership skills with strong relationship management, influencing, and execution skills. A key differentiator will be the ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex, matrixed environment.
- Experience developing communication strategies and plans that drive business priorities
- Experience in issue management and crisis communications
- Experience working with media reporters and associations
- Experience writing stories and pitches that help build the brand
- Experience in integrated content development across mediums
- Experience presenting information in a manner that persuades and influences decision making
Desired Qualifications:
- Public Affairs, Media Relations, Corporate Communications experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Management experience leading a team of communicators
