Key Responsibilities: DSS & Financial Management
- Oversee daily operations of the Decision Support department, accounts receivable, chargemaster, reimbursement and labor productivity.
- Ensure accurate and timely daily, monthly statistics reporting.
- Maintain compliance with CMS cost reporting, MAC, federal/state regulations.
- Coordinate and manage annual Medicaid DSH funding/ DSH audits, periodic DSH tax and funding.
- Oversee upgrades of EHR system on all revenue cycle modules.
- Develops and supports innovative solutions to hospital analytic and modeling needs; applies AI solutions when appropriate.
Decision Support & Analytics
- Lead the hospital’s decision support function, including cost accounting, chargemaster, budgeting, productivity monitoring, and service line profitability analysis.
- Provide financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis to support business planning and operational improvements.
- Partner with department leaders to evaluate financial performance and identify opportunities for cost efficiency and revenue growth.
- Develop dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support data-driven decision making.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise and mentor DSS and financial analysis staff, promoting professional development and accountability.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CFO and executive leadership team.
- Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to align financial goals with patient care priorities.
- Communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a healthcare setting and 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, cost , and financial analysis methodologies.
- Proficiency with hospital information systems, ERP, and decision support tools (e.g., EPSi, Strata, or similar).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Adept at Microsoft 365 modules, including MS Access.
- Must possess good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
