Carpenter Canada Co. has an immediate opening for an Electrician at our Calgary manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for analyzing and planning preventative maintenance tasks, specific jobs, and emergency repairs including hazard assessment & hazard control, troubleshooting, repairs, and housekeeping.
Your additional responsibilities as Electrician will include:
- Read equipment manuals and blueprints to successfully complete installations, troubleshooting and repairs.
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain motors, motor control logic, photo eyes, automation field devices and pneumatic control systems.
- Adjust equipment and repair/replace defective components.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to optimize equipment safety, efficiency and reliability.
- Complete Work Orders according to PM schedules.
- Ensure that work area is clean of debris and hazards at all times by following “Value of Order” principals.
- Evaluate and report conditions that may be unsafe or affect efficient operation of machinery, equipment and building systems.
- Operate forklifts, clamp-lifts, genie boom, scissor lifts and other machinery as needed.
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with company’s policies and OHS Act & Regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficient knowledge using tools such as Multi-meters, for maintenance or calibration tasks.
- Proficient knowledge using Allen Bradley and Siemens automation software.
- Proficient knowledge with Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems.
- Proficient knowledge working with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s) - installation, troubleshooting and maintenance.
- A strong working knowledge of safety regulations related to manufacturing business.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work with a team and independently in a time-sensitive environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- SAP experience is an asset.
