Job Description

Join Bosch’s international Export Control Team and take responsibility for ensuring compliance with export control and sanctions regulations in Hungary. As Export Control Officer (ECO), you will be the first point of contact for all export control-related matters together with the already existing ECO, supporting local entities and coordinating with central functions. You will monitor legal developments, assess risks, and implement effective compliance measures in line with EU, US, and Hungarian law.

Your Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with global and national export control laws and internal Bosch policies
• Act as the local expert for export control and sanctions topics in Hungary
• Support Bosch entities in Hungary in their dealings with customs and export control authorities
• Monitor and assess changes in Hungarian export control legislation and their impact on Bosch operations
• Coordinate with central ECO teams and escalate red flags or legal uncertainties
• Review and approve business activities involving dual-use goods, military items, or embargoed destinations
• Conduct risk assessments and support license applications with Hungarian authorities
• Review and negotiate export control clauses in contracts (e.g. No Russia/No Belarus clauses)
• Organize awareness sessions and trainings for associates
• Document all export control checks and decisions
• Support internal and external audits in Hungary

Qualifications

• Education: University degree in law, business administration, international trade, or a related field
• Experience: Several years of experience in export control, foreign trade law, or compliance, in a multinational corporation matrix environment ideally at manufacturing entities. Good holistic understanding of business processes from purchasing to sales, inclusive of customs operations, logistics, compliance, finance, tax
• Knowledge: Solid understanding of EU and US export control regulations, Hungarian foreign trade law, and sanctions regimes
• Skills: Analytical thinking, problem-solving, strong communication, and a collaborative mindset
• Languages: Fluent in English and Hungarian (written and spoken)
