Risk Governance and Framework Department is seeking an ambitious and dynamic individuals to work on governance around risk management and to coordinate Group Risk led committees, in particular Group Financial Risk Committee (GFRC).

The team

Risk Governance and Framework, within Integrated Risk Management, have 10 highly motivated professionals owning the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework, the bank-wide Risk policy house and group financial risk committee coordination.

Roles and responsibilities

In your role working on governance around risk management and acting as Group Financial Risk Committee Secretary you have the opportunity to develop yourself by viewing how ING operates at the heart of the organisation in a highly sensitive and confidential environment. You act as trusted advisor and together with the team you play an important role in supporting various ING’s risk management teams. Among other, you will:

1.Contribute to compliant, effective and efficient governance by:

(a) guiding high quality proposals to the members of the GFRC to ensure effective corporate decision making;

(b) facilitating well-prepared, efficient GFRC meetings;

(c) adhering to applicable standards, laws and regulations; and

(d) using digital/tech solutions where possible.

2. Provides adequate assurance, advice and support on GFRC related content and process matters.

3. Acts as gatekeeper and liaison between the GFRC, the rest of the ING organisation and its stakeholders.
 

  • Pro-actively drive the organisation of the GFRC meetings from beginning to end. This includes the drawing up of meeting agendas as well as quality review and timely distribution of committee documents.
  • Produce high quality minutes including the capturing of committee decisions and action points.
  • Manage actions in preparation of or which result from the GFRC by actively engaging with your stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and manage the annual cycle planning of GFRC meeting, work and establish the collective committee programme of lifelong learning.
  • Ensure that correct procedures are followed and that the GFRC act in accordance with their statutory obligations as laid down in various documents (e.g. the Governance Framework,  Group Risk Function Charter, Group Risk led committee procedure, ICBP and the Decision Structure ING).
  • Pro-actively advise on and drive the optimisation of processes. This includes automation of manual tasks, integration of existing and new systems, and developing one way of working across the team.

  • Service oriented mindset, with the ability to work in a demanding environment. Knowledge of and experience with the ING organisation is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 6 years working experience within ING’s corporate environment, with an academic degree (master’s degree), fluent in English.  Experience in Financial and Credit Risk, with change management skills is also an advantage.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to familiarise yourself quickly with other IT applications, such as  iManage, Sherpany and SaySo.
