The BDS Global and Export Engineering Team, has an opportunity for a Senior Manager that is passionate about Boeing’s export strategy.

This role will report to the Sr Manager of Global and Export Engineering and have overall responsibility for the day-to-day interactions and teaming to strength our policy and procedures, training and internal/external audits.

This position will require strong technical collaboration with the Boeing Engineering community, Global Trade Control Specialists, Program Export Integration, Boeing Global Services, and other Export Control Authorized Individuals in support of U.S. Federal export control jurisdiction and classification determination related to Boeing Product Standards. Engagement with technical partners across the range of product support and sustainment disciplines is important to success in this role.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaboration to understand Program export needs and regulatory requirements
  • Work with our existing Authorized Individual team and develop a strategy to meet our future business requirements
  • Oversee actions and projects related to Consent Agreements
  • Manage export control initiatives and IAW US Munitions List (USML)/ Commerce Control List (CCL) classifications
  • Engineering focal to integrate export compliance into Program execution
  • Work across organizational boundaries collaborating with Global Trade Controls, IT, Program Management, and Boeing Global Services to meet our current business demands.
  • Responsible for developing their team of individual contributors through mentoring and professional development discussions.
  • Solid understanding of Boeing's overall Business Unit and Engineering operations and experience leading efforts involving both technical and business operations activities.
  • Understanding of the Process and Tools Boeing uses to export information.  Support Process and Tool integration across programs and capabilities
  • Assist with Matter Under Review (MUR) investigations as needed
  • Basic understanding of Export License to support BDS Global Engineering Work Placement
  • The position requires the ability to travel as necessary.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners
  • 5+ years of experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • 5+ years of experience with Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Experience using business and financial acumen in order to influence and shape strategy

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Proven experience in managing export control initiatives and understanding USML/CCL classifications
  • Familiarity with Jurisdiction and Classification Notifications (JCCN) as well as Matter Under Review (MUR) investigations and their resolutions
  • Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, along with knowledge of the various platforms and programs within each division
  • Experience collaborating across multi-discipline engineering teams
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding targets goals and strong skills in program execution to schedule and budget
  • Ability to make sense of complex issues and communicate information simply
  • Experience developing and presenting recommendations for executive level management

  • Arlington and Fairfax, VA: $156,400 - $211,600
  • Berkeley, Saint Louis, and Saint Charles MO: $146,200 - $197,800
  • El Segundo, Huntington Beach, and Long Beach, CA: $156,400 - $211,600
  • Huntsville, AL and Mesa, AZ: $146,200 - $197,800
  • Oklahoma City, OK: $136,000 - $184,000
  • Tukwila, WA: $156,400 - $211,600
