The Expertise and Innovation (E&I) team is responsible for designing and implementing Global Talent, Capability, Organisation & People Analytics initiatives – building excellent quality products for deployment consistently across Unilever. These innovative, world class HR interventions are designed to support the organisation deliver competitive business growth and drive the priorities of the ULE as identified in the People Plan.


JOB PURPOSE AND ROLE
This role sits at the heart of the Expertise & Innovation team, supporting the Chief Talent, Development and People Analytics officer in driving enterprise-wide strategy and execution. As part of this team, this Talent & PMO Lead has three key areas of responsibility:
• Firstly, this role leads and contributes to the development of global expertise solutions in accordance with the People Plan, understanding the emerging needs and priorities of the business, fertilising new ideas and collaborating to develop new products where no suitable solution exists. In the first instance, the role will the lead the development of the enterprise Winning Culture and change plan, embedding the Play to Win Mindset, Four Focus Behaviours and enabling performance-led transformation.
• Secondly, the role is a designated ‘flow to’ partner for One Unilever and Global Functions and works with the CHROs on specific priority interventions for the respective function or IUL. The role will understand the business needs and help to curate off the shelf solutions that will support priorities and drive growth.
• Thirdly, this role will act as the PMO for the Expertise Innovation Funnel & Governance. Working closely with the full E&I, Reward, Inclusion, Global Health & Wellbeing and PEX teams, the role drives the integration of innovation and expertise products into one plan, ensuring the right governance, resourcing and capabilities are in place for E&I teams specifically, to deliver this plan to the business.

EXPECTED WORK AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead Design & Deployment of Global Expertise Initiatives (e.g. Winning Culture)
Work with the Chief Talent, Development, and People Analytics Officer to define and activate the enterprise culture and change plan across a multi-year period. Lead the overall Culture Squad bringing together all workstreams to drive and deliver the enterprise culture plan to:
• Embed behaviours –drive adoption of our four focus behaviours through integration across the Talent and Performance Management cycle and by deploying enterprise-wide experiences (e.g. immersive workshops)
• Build leadership capability for culture -courageous, inclusive, and performance-focused—through coaching, training, and feedback loops
• Foster employee ownership and engagement through internal influencers, ‘habit champions’, and team-led culture cascades
• Align systems and structures - Ensure that performance management, recognition, leadership development and org design reinforce the desired culture
• Measure and monitor cultural health - Use qualitative and quantitative tools (e.g. Culture Index, behavioural diagnostics) to assess progress and identify hotspots
• Communicate with clarity and consistency – Working closely with the comms team to craft compelling narratives and toolkits that help our people understand, connect with, and live the culture every day
2. Designated Talent Lead (1UL Markets & Functions)
• Advise CHROs as required on the off the shelf solutions that can address Talent, Capability & Organisation needs for 1UL and Functions to accelerate the business strategy.
• Provide advice and guidance to CHROs in preparation for WL4+ Talent & Succession Planning & End of Year Performance Review Forums for 1UL and Global Functions. Share a clear global talent framework for HRBPs and HR Generalists to replicate for respective leadership teams as appropriate at WL3+.
3. PMO Lead for E&I
• Act as the gatekeeper of the Expertise Innovation Funnel & Governance.
• Ensure all global interventions have clear problem/opportunity statements, and are based on integrating business context, external trends and employee insights before they are brought to the governance board comprising of E&I, Reward, Global Health & Wellbeing and PEX.
• Ensure resource allocation and operating rhythm across the E&I team and working in collaboration with other key stakeholders such as Inclusion, PEX, Reward and Global Health and Wellbeing.
• Drive integration of innovation and expertise products into one enterprise-wide plan, ready to deploy to the business. Ensure communication and awareness to bring clarity, visibility and transparency of initiatives and timelines.
• Continuously simplify, improve, and build capability across teams to ensure we can deliver integrated best in class solutions that will accelerate performance and business growth.
• Provide line of sight to HRLT and the CPO on initiative progress
Knowledge, Experience, Skills & Capabilities
• Has a deep understanding of Talent Management, Organisation Development, Culture Transformation, and strategic HR leadership across global teams, having held senior HR roles across multiple disciplines.
• Proven track record in leading complex, global, cross-market projects within matrixed environments using agile methodologies.
• Strong strategic and conceptual thinker with business acumen and the ability to connect dots across systems, stakeholders, and priorities.
• Skilled in influencing diverse audiences with a collaborative style that inspires and enables others.
• Agile, adaptable, and customer-focused—able to pivot quickly in response to changing business needs and external trends.
• Digitally and data savvy, with expertise in HR platforms, analytics, and tech stacks.
• Proficient in design thinking and conceptual writing to shape future-fit solutions.
• Effective communicator with global fluency and ability to lead across cultures and geographies.
• Experienced in leveraging external partnerships to drive best-in-class innovation.
• Balances strategic vision with operational execution—seeing the big picture while delivering day-to-day impact.
