Adjunct Faculty, Fall 2025 – Elementary Education (EDUC 121)

The Education Department at Keene State College is seeking qualified applicants for an adjunct faculty to teach EDUC 121 Issues in Elementary Education for the Fall 2025 semester.  This is a part-time non-benefitted positions. 

Our students come from diverse socio-economic and educational backgrounds, with a high percentage of first generation college students. By the time Keene State College students complete their undergraduate experience they develop critical thinking, creative inquiry, intercultural competence, civic engagement, and commitment to well-being that will serve them as active citizens and lifelong learners. We strongly encourage individuals to apply who will support the College's ongoing efforts to help students become responsible global citizens.

The Education Department at Keene State College is in the ongoing process of enhancing the curriculum in our program to better prepare our future educators for today’s diverse classrooms. The department utilizes assessments, feedback from the field, and our collective expertise to continually improve and evolve the education program. The Education Department includes both undergraduate and graduate programs in the preparation of teachers. Keene State College holds CAEP accreditation for all educator preparation programs.

The Education Department strives to prepare education professionals who:

  • Explore the dynamic nature of the teaching and learning process;

  • Demonstrate professional and ethical behaviors that meet high standards;

  • Understand the world from multiple perspectives; and

  • Contribute to a just and equitable world.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned Master’s degree in Education or related field. 

  • Minimum of five years full-time teaching experience in public schools at the elementary level (K-6)

  • Availability to teach in-person, during the day

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in math and science content and pedagogy

  • Expertise in literacy content and pedagogy

  • Experience teaching in an inclusive environment with diverse student populations (examples: SES, students with IEPs and 504 plans, ELL, cultural, and racial/ethnic)

  • College teaching experience

  • Supervision experience
