Deutsche Bank Research is responsible for economic and financial analysis within Deutsche Bank Group and covers asset allocation and all major industry sectors. We analyse relevant trends for the Bank in financial markets, the economy and society, highlight risks and opportunities and act as consultant for the Bank, its clients and stakeholders. Deutsche Bank Research delivers high-quality analysis and promotes public debate on economic, fiscal, labour market and social policy issues.

You will sit with the head of the Chemical team in Paris, responsible for supporting the team in producing equity research product, identifying investment opportunities, forming investment views and providing expert advice to institutional investors. The role’s responsibilities will involve detailed financial modelling, industry analysis, report writing and extensive engagement with external and internal clients and stakeholders globally.

Responsibilities

  • Working in close collaboration with the senior analyst and other team members to produce high quality written research and analyse the industry and companies under coverage.
  • Drafting detailed financial modelling and data analysis.
  • Attending company meetings and capital markets days.
  • Attending clients’ meetings, provide expert advice to institutional asset managers.
  • Building and leverage relationships with companies under coverage and industry experts, while also collaborating with the corporate access team.

Skills

  • Strong writing skills (in English/French), together with the ability to produce succinct and commercial research notes.
  • Educated to undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification/work experience.
  • Previous relevant professional experience a must, either in financial markets (buy or sell side) or chemical corporate role.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in building financial models and using Microsoft Excel.
  • Commercial mindset to promote research ideas to internal and external clients.
  • A self-starter with good communication and interpersonal skills.
