This is a term position; length of the term will be discussed during the interview process. Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.
POSITION SPECIFICS
A postdoctoral position is available at The Pennsylvania State University to study the evolution of aging and genetic variation, under the supervision of Dr. Juan Manuel Vazquez in the Department of Biology.
The Vazquez Lab studies the evolution of aging-related traits across vertebrates and the gene regulatory networks that govern them. Projects in the laboratory include: the evolution of somatic mutations across bats; differences in DNA damage repair across mammals; and population genetics of bats and other mammals.
A Ph.D. is required; ideally, in Ecology and Evolution. Experience with population genomics, molecular biology, and field work collections is a plus.
