Alcon is seeking a results-driven Medical Device Sales Representative to sell capital equipment and corresponding treatment packages in the ophthalmic clinic for early to intermediate dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD). This role requires strong relationship-building skills with healthcare professionals inclusive of doctors, technicians, and back-office personnel who operate and support this therapy.
Responsibilities:
A Retina Clinic Manager will be responsible for driving sales of capital equipment and associated treatment packages within targeted ophthalmic accounts. Your role will focus on strategic account development, clinical engagement, and long-term revenue growth.
Capital Equipment Sales: Lead face-to-face sales efforts for high-value medical clinical devices, targeting specialty and non-specialty clinics.
Treatment Package Pull-Through: Drive adoption and utilization of Valeda treatment packages tied to capital equipment to maximize account value and patient benefit.
Strategic Account Planning: Identify key opportunities within accounts and execute tailored sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
Clinical Engagement: Build strong relationships with clinical stakeholders including licensed physicians, nurses, and technicians to support product adoption and increasing usage.
Executive & Administrative Buy-In: Engage with non-clinical decision-makers such as procurement, finance, and administration to secure capital approvals and streamline reimbursement pull-through.
Sales Presentations & Demonstrations: Deliver compelling product presentations, proposals, and hands-on demonstrations to showcase clinical and economic value.
Customer Support & Education: Provide post-sale training, troubleshooting, and support to ensure successful implementation and sustained usage.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, clinical specialists, and service teams to support promotional efforts and customer success.
Market Intelligence: Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to position offerings effectively.
CRM & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline progress, and customer interactions using Salesforce tools and corresponding resourcing.
What you will bring to Alcon:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs)
2 years of relevant experience
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field.
Sales experience in ophthalmology, and/or clinic-based environments.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.
Self-motived and goal oriented.
Willingness to travel as required per territory geography.
