Our Team:
The Biomarker Research unit in the mRNA Center of Excellence is building a world-class translational research team and is seeking highly motivated Associate Scientist interested in clinical exploratory assays to assess the immunogenicity, reactogenicity, and MoAs of mRNA vaccines in early translation and Phase 1/2 clinical trials.
The candidate should be familiar with concepts in human immunology and vaccinology as well as working experience with standard immunological laboratory techniques, such as flow cytometry, single cell, multiplexing technologies to quantify cytokines and tissue culture of human peripheral blood mononuclear cell for immune assays. The successful candidate will have the ability to learn and innovate immunological assay techniques and methodologies. The candidate will be expected to create experimental plans, implement in vitro assays, perform immunological assays, as well as prepare reports and present results.
The candidate should remain up-to-date on the relevant scientific literature related to clinical exploratory immunology. The candidate will be ready to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment that rewards personal initiative, collaboration, and scientific excellence.

Main responsibilities:
- Support execution on in vitro immunological and cellular assays to evaluate the biological functions of mRNA vaccine candidates in human immune cells
- Have a strong proficiency with Cytometry and multiplex cytokine array assay methods
- With oversight, exercise creativity in devising new protocols and/or strategies to solve complex problems or optimize assays for stronger performance
- Support the clinical exploratory protocol development and associated clinical documentation
- Effectively record and report experiments, maintaining GRP and HSE standards and policies
- Collaborate on project experimental study plans, reports, presentations, publications, and patents
- The position requires work with human blood products
About you
- MSc with entry level training in immunology, biomedical, or applied science field
- Demonstrated experience with cell culture/PBMCs methodologies is required; immunological assay experience with flow cytometry is highly preferred
- Ability to support preparation of results into visually appealing and understandable stories
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Collaboration and Teamwork, Time Management and Organization
- Excellent knowledge of English language (spoken and written); French is a plus
