Job Description

Join us on an exciting journey to shape the future of antibody and nanoparticle conjugation technologies. As Group Lead within our R&D Reagents Department, you will take on a central role in developing a flexible platform that drives innovative solutions for cell and gene therapy. This is your opportunity to combine scientific expertise with leadership and project management in a highly collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

  • You will work at the intersection between particles and cells as well as biomolecules.
  • You will develop an antibody and nanoparticle conjugation platform, enabling the development of cell stimulation reagents and other applications.
  • Part of your role will be to design and implement advanced chemical processes, including modern conjugation methods such as Click Chemistry, including SH-coupling, and Tetrazine/TCO systems.
  • You will oversee interdisciplinary projects from start to finish, including planning, resource allocation, progress tracking, and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Close collaboration with internal teams such as Applications, QA, and Production will be a key part of your day-to-day work, ensuring smooth integration of new technologies into product pipelines.
  • You will provide guidance, mentorship, and training to your team members, fostering an environment where knowledge sharing, professional growth, and innovation can thrive.

Qualifications

  • You hold a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Sciences, or a related field, and you bring several years of hands-on experience with antibody or nanoparticle conjugation.
  • Your expertise includes  nanoparticle-based systems, ideally silica, magnetic iron oxide, or polymers, as well as experience with advanced coupling strategies like Click Chemistry and Tetrazine/TCO.
  • You have experience in particle-cell interactions. Experience with flow cytometry, cell analysis, cell activation and cell culture is a plus.
  • You have successfully managed complex R&D projects, demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to keep teams aligned and motivated.
  • You enjoy working in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment, and your approach is solution-oriented, structured, and collaborative.
  • Excellent communication skills in English are essential, and German language skills are an advantage; you are comfortable leading discussions, presenting ideas, and building networks.
  • You bring several years of experience, with a proven track record of strong leadership and team management skills.
