Principal Civil Engineer / Associate Technical Director - Urban Development

  Role description:    Our Urban Development team is a rapidly growing team with a diverse portfolio of greenfield residential and industrial developments along with infill urban regeneration projects. Existing projects underway and in the pipeline include a number of notable developments located within South-East Queensland with some of the region’s most prominent property developers.
  Role accountabilities:

The Role Accountabilities Include:

• Take a key role in projects, providing leadership, technical advice, and oversight as required
• Develop solutions that fall outside standard codes and implement innovation in design and problem-solving
• Deliver technically complete solutions, reports, and alternatives to clients that meet expectations, budgets, and regulatory requirements
• Manage design teams to achieve program, quality, safety, and delivery targets, including technical reviews and risk mitigation
• Build and consolidate strong client relationships during and after projects, seeking feedback and identifying new opportunities
• Provide technical and commercial input into bids, using knowledge of client needs, competition, and the industry
• Assist in the professional development of staff through mentoring, coaching, and guidance on chartership
• Communicate project strategy and client requirements clearly to team members, ensuring engagement and direction
• Build effective working relationships across teams, disciplines, councils, and water authorities to support approvals and project success
• Keep up to date with technical and legislative requirements while maintaining a strong professional reputation in the industry

Qualifications & Experience: 

First and foremost, you share our passion for improving quality of life through your contribution to major urban development and regeneration projects that change the way we move around our city. You are a chartered or registered engineering professional (RPEQ) with a passion for sharing your knowledge and experience with the next generation of engineers. You will come to us with:

• 15+ years of experience
• Chartered or registered engineer and with relevant local accreditation (RPEQ);
• Extensive senior industry experience with urban development and regeneration design management is essential; 
• Well established industry networks and be a recognised leader in urban development; 
• Demonstrated experience working in a consulting environment with clear responsibility for technical & commercial outcomes; 
• Demonstrated experience leading a team of technical, drafting and engineering staff both locally and internationally; and 
• Proven ability to network and influence peers, as well as excellent communication and relationship building skills both internally and externally.
• Relevant engineering degree and/or qualification.
