Part-Time Middle School History Teacher (leave replacement)

The Packer Collegiate Institute invites applicants interested in teaching part-time middle school history.

Anticipated start date: October 1st, 2025

Responsibilities:

This part-time position entails teaching two sections of 7th grade U.S. History.

Applicants should possess:

• Strong content knowledge of U.S. History and a range of pedagogical approaches to help students practice the historical thinking skills and the habits of mind that will empower them to interrogate the past, develop evidence-based arguments, and make connections to the present

• A minimum of three to five years experience teaching history 

• A commitment to anti-bias and anti-racism work and to promoting an inclusive, just, and equitable school community

• Familiarity with technology in the teaching of history is essential

• The desire to collaborate in planning curriculum with other members of a collegial department is essential

• A Master's degree is preferred, but not required

Salaries are determined based on a scale reflecting years of teaching experience and level of education.
