Scheduler / Patient Service Rep

University Physicians' Association is seeking qualified applicants for a Scheduler for a University Pulmonary & Critical Care a practice located within UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. 

Duties Include

• Schedule diagnostic testing and procedures using the medical center’s scheduling program
• Obtain authorization for testing and procedures
• Appropriately document authorizations and appointments in the patient record
• Communicate with providers regarding insurance denials 
• Provide patients with correct instructions for scheduled appointments
• Schedule outgoing referrals to other specialties
• Answer phone calls and EMR messages in a timely manner 
• Works well with providers and staff 
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Experience with medical terminology, as well as a strong knowledge of medical insurance
• 6 months to 1-year previous medical office experience
• High School Diploma
