    A Day in Your Life at MKS:

    As the Senior Manager, APAC Trade Compliance within our Global Supply Chain organization you will ensure that Asia regional MKS’ import and export activities comply with international trade laws and regulations.  This role will manage global trade compliance processes, from documentation to risk management, ensuring accurate tracking, classification, and regulatory compliance.  Additionally, you will collaborate with external customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth import/export processes and avoid delays.  This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative international environment navigating multiple, organizations, sites, cultures and practices. You will report to the Director of Global Trade Compliance.

    You Make an Impact By:

    • Develop and lead oversight of our regional import and export trade compliance operations in a matrixed environment being executed by the business units across at our locations across APAC. Serve as a primary regional resource for local regional teams.
    • Optimize regional duty mitigation strategies and any potential local duty offset or recovery opportunities.
    • Helping to identify potential trade compliance risks such as restricted parties, classification errors, proper licenses, & documentation gaps and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Assist with import and export related operational tasks and special projects as needed. Responsibilities include regional HTS classification at the defined country level and global export license management.
    • Work with engineering and other key stakeholders to understand technical requirements to assure appropriate HTS classifications and country of origin determination.
    • Working closely with internal teams and external partners to gather necessary information and resolve compliance issues. Resolving missing or incomplete documentation issues by coordinating with relevant parties to obtain and submit the required paperwork.
    • Leverage global trade management system, externally provided trade data (customs broker/ forwarder data) and MKS ERPs to review alerts & notifications, examine trade data and identify patterns or anomalies that may indicate compliance risks.
    • Support MKS’s preferential trade qualifications for current (USMCA, KORUS, ILFTA, etc.) and potential future trade agreements
    • Provide data analysis to improve the integrity and efficiency of the MKS global trade compliance program.
    • Ensure global compliance programs support MKS trade compliance policies and Export / Import laws and regulations where applicable by country.
    • Oversee regional government customs audits and assessments.
    • Train regional employees on trade compliance policies and procedures.

    Skills You Bring:

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in import/export compliance, international trade, or a related field
    • Experience with customs software and trade compliance tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, E2Open, or compliance-specific platforms)
    • Knowledge of APAC regional import customs regulations, US and APAC export control laws, and other global trade compliance frameworks
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations.
    • Strategic, pragmatic and collaborative mindset
    • Strong communication skills
    • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at different levels of the organization
    • Experience in a complex global business environment
