Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is hiring a Lead Electrical Designer for our office in Baton Rouge, LA!

The Lead Electrical Designer will work independently with project team to create design drawings, layouts, reports, and CADD products to meet the project requirements. Knowledge of functional areas of electrical and controls engineering for water/wastewater design, electrical plans, lighting design, SCADA networks and more. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD and REVIT. Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical is a plus.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include

Essential Functions 

• Develop single line diagrams from equipment lists and vendor data.
• Create, add and update electrical components in project models in CAD or REVIT.
• Prepare detailed technical drawings for various construction projects.
• Knowledgeable in sizing of conduit, wire, and protection devices. 
• Understanding what SCADA is and how to connect devices or equipment to a PLC.
• Review construction plans for compliance with design specifications.
• Assist in development of material specifications; determines quantities and cost estimates of projects; and research records to determine existing project conditions.

 

What you'll need

Required Education and Experience: 

• 2- year course in drafting design and/or college degree
• Certification as a CADD Professional is preferred
• 8+ years of related work experience, preferably in electrical and controls engineering and network layout. Experience must include preparing design drawings, plans, sections, and details.
• Experience leading teams of Designers is strongly preferred.
