Outbound Sales Team Lead

As our Outbound Sales Team Lead, you’ll take ownership of scaling and coaching a team of ~10 sales reps across our core European markets (UK, DE, ES, IT, FR). This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll shape processes, sharpen cold-calling skills, and drive revenue growth through upsell, cross-sell, and new business. If you’re a top-performing AE ready to step into leadership or already leading a small team, this is your chance to build something big.

What you’ll be doing

  • Build and scale SumUp’s European outbound sales function — from hiring and team structure to playbooks, training, and scalable processes.

  • Coach and develop reps to own the full sales cycle (first dial to close), while keeping them sharp on skills and confident with our expanding product suite.

  • Drive results by setting clear KPIs, tracking performance, and ensuring accountability across the team.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with our Growth team to refine outbound motions, share insights, and continuously improve how we engage merchants.

  • Grow the team strategically — leading expansion to 4 reps per market by the end of 2025 and directly shaping the success of our European outbound engine.

You’ll be great for the role if

  • You’re fluent in English and confident communicating across markets and cultures (French and Italian a plus).

  • You have a proven track record as a Senior AE (or similar role) and thrive on closing deals.

  • You bring at least 1 year of leadership experience in pre-sales or sales, with the ability to coach, mentor, and inspire.

  • You’re a clear and persuasive communicator, skilled at motivating your team and aligning stakeholders.

  • You’re highly people-oriented — you know how to build trust, empower others, and drive performance.

  • You’re process-minded and love turning chaos into structure, designing workflows that scale.
