Reports To Director of Clinical Services
Primary Purpose Provide virtual speech and language therapy services to Spanish-speaking and bilingual K-12 students with disabilities across partner school districts in Texas. Ensure culturally and linguistically appropriate services aligned with IEPs, IDEA, and Texas Education Code. Deliver high-quality evaluations and interventions that reflect each student's language background and communication needs.
Qualifications Education/Certification - Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders - Valid Texas SLP license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) - Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CCC-SLP) - Texas Educator Certificate in Speech-Language Pathology (SBEC) preferred if working with public schools - Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency required
Special Knowledge/Skills - Knowledge of bilingual language development and cultural-linguistic variables - Ability to conduct bilingual evaluations and deliver Spanish-language therapy - Familiarity with IDEA, Texas Education Code, and ARD/IEP processes - Proficiency in FERPA-compliant teletherapy tools and digital documentation platforms - Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
Experience - Minimum of 2 years of school-based SLP experience preferred - Prior experience working with bilingual or emergent bilingual student populations preferred - Teletherapy experience strongly preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties Assessment and Evaluation - Conduct virtual bilingual speech and language evaluations, including FIE components - Use linguistically appropriate and culturally valid assessment tools - Interpret evaluation data and present findings at ARD meetings - Prepare legally compliant, culturally informed reports
Therapy and Service Delivery - Provide direct speech-language services in Spanish and/or English as aligned with student needs and IEPs - Develop measurable, functional IEP goals that reflect bilingual communication goals - Track progress and adjust interventions using data-informed practices
Collaboration and Compliance - Collaborate with special education teachers, general education staff, and related service providers - Participate in ARD meetings and multidisciplinary team decisions - Maintain documentation and service logs per district and state timelines - Ensure all services comply with ASHA, TEA, and TDLR requirements
Technology and Reporting - Use secure, FERPA-compliant virtual platforms for therapy and documentation - Maintain timely service records and progress updates - Stay current on teletherapy best practices and bilingual service guidance
