Position Summary
Responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing and/or system operations, such as working with engineers and manufacturing in set-up and calibration tasks, system support, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, documenting/following standard operating procedures, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the process and production of memory chips and logic. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct in-line adjustments to products, instruments, equipment, or processes. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Requires compliance with all health, safety and environmental management system guidelines.Role and Responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance (PM)/Change Point Management (CPM)/System Maintenance: Follows standard operating procedures to ensure equipment, processes, and systems run effectively.
Troubleshooting: Conducts failure analysis and follows scripts to troubleshoot and anticipate future failures.
Monitor Equipment/Process: Monitors equipment and processes in current state and proactively looks for ways to improve processes.
Teamwork and Communication: Able to work well in a team environment and effectively communicate throughout organization.
Requires minimal supervision unless a major incident occurs.
Identifies new assignments/projects based on departmental needs.
May mentor non-exempt personnel.
May provide technical training to the department or organization.
Works on advanced assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative.
Understands the implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
Has an advanced understanding of equipment/processes in assigned areas and can shift focus when priorities change.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Wear clean room suit and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per SAS FAB protocol.
Able to wear a purifying air, supplied air, or self-contained breathing apparatus for extended periods.
Work in a tight-fitting, FAB environment.
Able to lift <50 lbs.
Able to stand/walk for 10+ hours daily and climb stairs.
May perform repetitive hand and wrist motions, twist, and bend body.
Vision: Exposed to yellow and blinking lights.
Able to discern audible alarms.
Potential to work with hazardous chemicals.
Skills and Qualifications
Education/ Experience:
2 year college degree or technical school certification preferred.
In addition, typically requires 8 years of related experience.
Semiconductor or high volume manufacturing experience preferred.
Tasks, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Completes tasks in innovative and effective ways.
Performs Advanced Preventative/ Corrective Maintenance: Develops new methods for corrective maintenance/repairs. Tasked with completing PM/CPM improvement projects.
Identifies areas of business process improvement opportunities and provides input as to which improvement projects need to be pursued.
Troubleshoots, down to root cause.
Decides which type of maintenance is needed, selects parts for replacement.
Reviews and submits vendor invoices and payments.
Understands interactions with other departments in activities such as maintenance scheduling.
May participate on cross-functional teams.
Serves as liaison between ENG team and Operations Team – communicates and represents SAS company initiatives.
Involved on projects beyond sustaining.
Demonstrates innovation by offering new solutions, designs, and measurements.
Must have strong multivariable analytical skills.
Understands manufacturing indices.
Able to prioritize schedules or duties for others.
Must have ability to perform process ownership role.
