The IU Health Department of Public Safety is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven PRN Project Coordinator to support the development, implementation, and management of accredited policies and procedures for law enforcement and public safety operations. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with national standards, enhancing operational effectiveness, and promoting officer safety and accountability working remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Development & Management

    • Draft, revise, and maintain law enforcement and public safety policies in alignment with accreditation standards (e.g., CALEA, ILEAP).

    • Collaborate with subject matter experts, legal counsel, and operational leaders to ensure policies are accurate, practical, and legally sound.

    • Track policy updates and ensure timely dissemination and training across departments.

  • Project Coordination

    • Manage timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications for policy-related projects.

    • Coordinate internal reviews, feedback sessions, and approval workflows.

    • Maintain organized documentation and version control for all policy materials.

  • Accreditation Support

    • Assist in preparing documentation and evidence for accreditation assessments and audits.

    • Monitor compliance with accreditation standards and recommend improvements.

    • Support training and education initiatives related to policy implementation.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Serve as a liaison between DPS leadership and team members and external regulatory bodies.

    • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations to support policy awareness and adoption.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Legal Studies, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 3+ years of experience in law enforcement, public safety administration, or policy coordination.

  • Familiarity with accreditation standards such as CALEA, ILEAP, or similar.

  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with law enforcement agencies or public safety organizations.

  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks affecting public safety operations.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
