LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Medical licensure as required by applicable state State Medical Board. Additional certifications may be required in select areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- CLINICAL (if applicable to this position): Appointment with an expectation for developing and preparing students at the professional doctoral level, master's level, and baccalaureate level as clinicians and educators, with significant responsibility toward both. Position is engaged almost entirely in clinical practice and teaching, though scholarship and university service is expected. Most scholarship activities are expected to contribute to professional issues or program development.
- ADMINISTRATION: Administrative responsibilities include major service assignments within a department or college.
- RESEARCH (if applicable to thisposition): Appointment with an expectation for developing and conducting research and securing outside grant and contract funds for scholarly research activity. Responsible for budget, authorizing expenditures, and adjustments.
- EDUCATION: Teaching responsibilities include time spent in the classroom, clinical setting, laboratory, or telecommunications courses and in immediate preparation for them. Maintains and improves competence in subjects being taught, prepares teaching materials, confers with students on course materials, directs dissertations, theses, and plan B papers. Directs individual, group studies and practice. Reviews written examinations and papers, evaluates artistic presentations, supervises independent study projects, and supervises or teaches clinical internships or programs. Professional peer review is an essential feature of effective teaching.
- Participates actively as a member of the university community and on administrative committees, search committees, in university governance activities, and student advising.
