Ravenswood Gold operates the largest gold mine in Queensland. We’ve committed to a significant expansion of the existing mining operation that will see gold production increase to over 200,000 ounces per year and extend the life of the operation beyond 2035.
The role will report to the Mine Planning Superintendent, and you will be responsible in generating a 3-to-12-month plan in accordance with the Life of Mine Plan. You will also manage the Short-Term Planning Engineers, ensuring the Short-Term plan complies with the Medium-Term Plan. You will work closely with various departments, e.g. Geology, Geotechnical, Environmental, etc to ensure that all other required activities are completed to minimise impact to the mine plan. Ensure all risks and opportunities are highlighted in the plan and the appropriate actions are taken.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
• Create a Medium-term Schedule (3-12 months plan) and complete mining reconciliation monthly.
• Liaise with Principal Mining Engineer to ensure the Medium-term Schedule complies with Long-term Schedule.
• Ensure Short-term scheduling of pit activities are compliant with the Medium-Term Schedule
• Work closely with the Geologist and Production Superintendent, to ensure grade control, exploration, productivity and cost goals are incorporated and implemented in mine plans.
• Ensure monthly mining spatial reconciliation is completed.
• Drill and blast design review and monitoring
• The role shall coordinate the activities of permanent mining contractors
• Coordination of site personnel and contractors in the safe and effective implementation of the projects.
• Perform all work without compromising Health, Safety or Environment in accordance with Ravenswood Gold standards and policies.
• Ensure you understand and comply with all standard work procedures and statutory requirements.
• Ensure all safety and environmental incidents are reported immediately
• Use correct safety equipment and PPE when performing your work duties.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards in your work area.
ABOUT YOU
Essential
• Relevant mining engineering or tertiary degree.
• At least 5 years of Open Pit Metals experience.
• Solid experience in Mine Planning.
• Well-developed analytical skills.
• Project management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Interpersonal skills.
Desirable
• Deswik software skills. Cad and Sched.
• Drill and blast engineering experience.
• Shotplus and BlastIQ experience.
• Working with tailings.
