Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager will manage, train, and mentor a team of accounting professionals. This position manages the general accounting functions within Corporate Accounting and the content integrity of financial data generated for the corporate office and operating divisions. This role will ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures. Additionally, this role will coordinate and direct personnel as necessary to accomplish duties and work with other departments and other supervisors to ensure accurate and timely information is available. The Accounting Manager will also be responsible for certain aspects of the company’s closing process, preparation of various internal and external financial reports, special analyses, and employee development. Looking for an experienced accounting professional with proven leadership skills.

This role is based in Brentwood, TN.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Process and manage accounts payable transactions

Managing the general accounting function and maintaining the general ledger system.
Responsible for all aspects of accounting (accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger entries, bank reconciliation, credit card expense report reconciliation, cash applications, collections, and payroll)
Develops accounting organizational strategies by contributing accounting and financial information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction.
Evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.
Maintains sufficient funds by forecasting cash requirements and obligations.
Ensuring day-to-day transactions such as accounts payable, cash receipts and accounts receivable, credit card transactions, and payroll are recorded properly and reconciled monthly.
Hiring, training and supervising accounting staff
Researching accounting issues for compliance with GAAP

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
Master’s degree and/or CPA certification a plus
5-7+ years of experience in related accounting roles with prior supervisory experience
Strong understanding of GAAP as well as internal controls

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

What We Can Offer In Return:

Base Salary of $115,000 to $130,000 (depending on relevant experience, skills)
