Marketing & Communications Coordinator ~ Little Scientists

Froebel Australia Limited.com

76k - 86k AUD/year

Office

Sydney CBD, New South Wales 2000, Australia

Part Time

Little Scientists’ mission is to champion inquiry-based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education for all children aged 0-8 years across Australia. We do this by training educators in early STEM teaching skills and knowledge at our evidence-based STEM workshops nationwide.

How important is early STEM education? Early childhood is now recognised as the critical window to commence STEM education. In fact, research shows that children who engage in rich STEM learning from infancy develop stronger STEM dispositions and skills — like critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity — that improve their long-term education and wellbeing outcomes.

Little Scientists is proud to be Australia’s leading provider of early STEM professional development to the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector. Through our work, we also advocate for the importance of early STEM education with decision-makers across the ECEC sector as well as state, territory, and federal governments. Little Scientists is not-for-profit and supported by the Australia Government through the Department of Education.

The Opportunity

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is an established role within Little Scientists’ Sydney-based Head Office team and is responsible for the day-to-day development and implementation of Little Scientists’ public-facing communications across email, social media, our website, and more.

Reporting to the Project Director, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator will help to strategically develop Little Scientists’ brand and communications outputs, promote STEM workshops to early childhood educators across the country, draw new people into our early childhood STEM community, and help run our biennial nationwide Early STEM Education Awards and other strategic projects.

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is an exciting role for someone passionate about early childhood education with a flair for digital communication, graphic design, and social media. It’s a rare role that can be shaped by your unique skills and strengths. For example, do you love being in front of the camera? Why not film regular STEM experiments for our online community! Is long form writing your passion? Develop a weekly blog exploring the intersection of STEM and ECEC!

Most importantly, this role will provide you with the chance to develop professionally within a small, supportive team and wield your passion for early childhood education for national impact. We look forward to meeting you!
