We are seeking a highly experienced Automation Testing software engineer to define, design, and implement the overall test automation for our large-scale, high-traffic e-commerce platform. This is a critical role where you will be responsible for building robust, scalable, and maintainable test suites that cover all layers of testing, using Playwright, comprehensive API testing, and crucially, ensuring high standards of digital Accessibility and efficient Regression testing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain scalable and reusable automation "Testing Cases."
Lead the implementation of advanced End-to-End tests using Playwright for complex web and API interactions.
Develop and implement automated Accessibility testing (WCAG) within the CI/CD pipeline.
Optimize and maintain the regression test suite for efficiency, speed, and reliability.
Establish coding standards, best practices, and conduct code reviews for test automation development.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams on quality initiatives and influence technical decisions.
Qualifications:
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or MCA (Master of Computer Applications).
6+ years of progressive experience in software testing and automation, with significant experience in designing and building for complex applications.
Deep expertise with Playwright and implementing scalable End-to-End test frameworks for modern web applications.
Proven experience and implementing automated accessibility testing strategies and integrating accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe Core, Lighthouse) into automation frameworks against standards like WCAG.
Strong experience testing REST APIs comprehensively using automation tools (e.g., Playwright's API testing capabilities or dedicated API testing frameworks).
Experience in a large-scale e-commerce or similar complex application domain, understanding typical workflows (user accounts, catalog, cart, checkout, orders).
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical leadership skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical direction.
Technical Skills:
Test Automation Frameworks: Playwright (Expert), Jest, Mocha, Vitest (familiarity).
Languages: JavaScript (Expert), TypeScript (Expert).
Web Technologies: HTML, CSS, DOM manipulation, modern JavaScript frameworks (understanding of React/Next.js strongly preferred).
API Testing: Playwright API testing, Postman, REST Assured (or similar).
Accessibility Tools: Axe Core, Lighthouse, Pa11y, understanding of WCAG standards.
CI/CD: Tekton (Highly Preferred), Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI.
Version Control: Git (Expert).
Cloud/Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes (familiarity preferred).
Databases: Basic SQL knowledge (for test data management).
