Position Summary

As a Subtitling Operation Director of Subtitling team, you will oversee the overall operational activities of the languages under your span as well as the People Management aspect of it.

You will be tasked with managing the Subtitling operation, which will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of high-quality subtitling services to a growing number of clients.

Outcomes and Accomplishments

As an Operation director, you will:

Subtitle Coordination

  • Oversee end-to-end project management of Korean related localization projects and meet quality and on-time delivery standards.

  • Ensure success in terms of project planning and execution, teamwork and collaboration, meeting client requirements and escalating risks and need for support as soon as they’re identified.

  • Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day performance of the team’s operations.

  • Work closely with Business Development and Client Service to assist the company in expanding its service.

  • Resource utilization planning and spending to help gain margin.

  • Capacity planning, organizational structure, and continuous process improvement to help gain speed and efficiency and improve quality.

  • Foster and maintain best practices within the global localization project management team and build capacity for creative problem-solving and high standards of communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Build a nimble and customer-oriented team culture with a “can-do” attitude and a healthy respect for creative intent and the art of localization.

  • Drive key initiatives within Localization Operations. Collaborate with PMO, functional directors and global stakeholders to keep the focus on new projects, working with the project team to ensure operationalization is successfully delivered.

  • Be a change agent to help drive change management effectively. Motivate and contextualize the need for change with teams to ensure successful adoption of new processes and technology in an ever-evolving business.

  • People management, attrition management, succession planning for team reporting directly into you.

Subtitling Production

  • Be accountable for the overall operational activities of the span of languages and team they oversee.

  • Managed a variety of complex, large-scale localization projects.

  • Provided critical support to plan, organize, and execute a variety of localization projects on a local and global scale.

  • Applied expert knowledge in media localization to evaluate end-to-end workflows and generate new, cost-effective solutions.

  • Identified process gaps, designed solutions, and aligned multiple internal departments to support best-in-industry localization. 

  • Be the regional POC for any quality related concerns for their respective language streams/pools. 

  • Evaluated external and internal resource needs to support a variety of projects. Advised department leads on resource needs.

  • Actively coached and mentored global teams to define and enforce best practices for project management, localization, and communication.

  • Collaborated with global production managers to regularly monitor delivery metrics, improve detection of at-risk projects, and provide appropriate solutions to prevent missed deliveries.

  • Responded to direct customer escalations, independently investigated root causes for escalations and provided timely, client-friendly responses.

What You Bring:

  • Candidate must have a graduate degree.

  • Excellent command on English language.

  • Good time management skills, excellent problem-solving skills.

  • A keen interest in media industry preferred.
