Seed Production Agronomist

Corteva Agriscience is seeking a Seed Production Agronomist to join our dynamic Seeds Production team in Spain. This role is pivotal in managing and executing Corteva’s basic seed production programs, with a strong focus on sunflower and corn crops.

As a Seed Production Agronomist, you will:

• Oversee seed production activities for sunflower (primary) and corn.
• Manage production programs across strategic regions in Andalusia, including Jimena de la Frontera (Cádiz) and Alhaurín de la Torre (Málaga).
• Identify and develop new seed production fields and farmer partnerships.
• Supervise all crop stages: allocation, planting, rouging, pest control, irrigation, harvesting, and post-harvest processes.
• Ensure compliance with Corteva’s EH&S standards and lead field safety initiatives.
• Collect and analyze crop data to ensure high-quality seed output.
• Support seed certification and storage processes until final delivery.
• Collaborate with the Seed Production team on hybrid seed production programs.

You will report directly to the Field Operations Manager.

Location:

• Cadiz – frequent travel required

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in sunflower seed production.
• Knowledge of basic seed production and corn is a plus.
• Degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, or equivalent experience.
• Certifications such as Certi-Phyto and Crop Inspector/Self-Certification are advantageous. Corteva will provide training if not currently held, with completion required within the first year.
