L.7 Engineer - HDT chassis

The Engineer  / Sr Engineer - Production will oversee HDT Truck & Bus assembly line operations at DICV's Oragadam factory. This role requires strong expertise in truck and sub-assembly processes, hands-on experience with production scheduling, troubleshooting of Vehicle defects , and Strong Man power handling. 

The candidate will be responsible for meeting production targets, optimizing resource utilization, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring timely vehicle rollout as per PPS production plan. The position demands active leadership in manpower planning, crisis management, and training of blue-collar associates , Flexi work force and Contract labour. 

The engineer will also implement continuous improvement initiatives, uphold quality management systems such as IATF & IMS audits, and maintain discipline and 5S standards on the shop floor. Familiarity with manufacturing systems like SAP or MES is essential.

• Achieve and exceed production targets in truck assembly.
• Plan and manage manpower effectively, handling crises as they arise.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
• Ensure timely vehicle rollout with First Time Through (FTT) targets met.
• Maintain and sustain high standards of process and product quality.
• Train and mentor blue-collar workers to ensure smooth operations.
• Identify and resolve quality issues with effective countermeasures.
• Optimize machine and equipment utilization and upkeep.
• Maintain production tools and equipment in good condition.
• Enforce 5S principles and discipline on the shop floor.
• Maintain and comply with Quality Management Systems (IATF).
• Utilize manufacturing systems like SAP or MES for scheduling and tracking.
• Apply troubleshooting skills to address assembly line issues promptly.
