With deep technical knowledge and large experience in a specific Application domain:
- Understand needs & technical requirements, system/solution architectures, best practices and standards.
- Develop and/or support both conceptual application designs and detailed application designs/engineering studies.
Provides technical complex and very complex design, knowledge and knowhow for customers in a specific application domain. Helps establish technical strategies, internal procedures and best practices. Communicates results, issues and solutions internally and to customers. Provides technical expertise and optimization. Troubleshoots product and system issues. Provides some commercial argumentation and reports potential risk if any and may help customers to define their needs. May provide mentoring, instructions/assistance to lower levels.
">5 years relevant experience - Engineering Sales is focused on providing technical advice and support to sales teams and conducting technical analysis of product configurations to determine customer specific pricing including: •Preparing and conducting technical sales briefings for customer and company representatives •Researching customer technical specifications and estimating the costs, resources, time, and technical requirements of modifying, configuring, and installing the product or solution •Evaluating sales proposals to ensure they are technically accurate and consistent with the organization’s quality standards •May resolve/troubleshoot implementation problems and conduct initial user training

Level: An Entry Professional (P1) applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education. May require the following proficiency: • Work is closely supervised. • Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex. • Explains facts, policies and practices related to job area.

Summary Of The Job

The Engineering Team leader is responsible for the Engineering team based in Malaysia. The team consists of Application Design Engineers which are responsible for the design and technical documentation of uninterruptible power supply systems (UPS) for the duration of the project contract from the stage of project transfer from the Sales department through the delivery of the system.

The Engineering Team leader coordinates the work of his team to meet the requirements of the customer (external and internal) in terms of quality, on time delivery, cost and customer satisfaction.

The Engineering Team leader plays a key role in the improvement of the process and procedures in the department related to all Engineering activities and especially to all activities related to the requirements of the O&G market.

The Engineering Team leader is responsible for the development of his employees and his team by supporting, coaching and challenging them individually as well as a team. He/ She is part of the Engineering Leadership Team and supports the Head of Engineering on strategic topics and participates in internal projects to transform tools and processes. He/ She participates in SIM and coordination meetings held with other Gutor Departments.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Lead and manage the engineering team:

• Organize, plan and dispatch the work among the team
• Work with the engineers on development (career planning, coaching, goals, performance feedback & evaluation)
• Provide support and guidance to the team (coaching, mentoring, lessons learned, best practice)
• Develop and grow the team by trainings (conducted by himself or organized by external trainers)
• Manage the budget of the team
• Prepare new recruitment with support of HR and the Head of Engineering
• Responsible for the development and maintenance of customer / market specific engineering guidelines.
• Coordination with planning/scheduler and Project Management to plan workload and confirm engineering deliverables.
• Ensure the collaboration between the other Gutor departments.
