Job Summary

Responsible for the planning, development, and management of the Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB) core banking application systems. The incumbent will oversee the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of these systems, ensuring they meet the needs of the BPMB clients and stakeholders. This role will require to collaborate with other technology and business units to ensure the core banking systems meet the strategic objectives of the organization.

Job Description

• Managing the core banking  application budgets, tracking costs, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Work with business stakeholders to define, prioritize, and plan the development and enhancement of core banking systems that meet customer needs and expectations.
• Ensure the core banking application systems meet service level agreements and customer requirements for availability, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate with other technology and business units to ensure the core banking application systems align with the overall technology and business strategies, contributing to a positive customer experience.
• Oversee the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization's core banking application systems, ensuring they meet business requirements and adhere to technology standards.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team to ensure efficient, effective, and timely delivery of core banking applications.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including requirements, design specifications, and operational procedures, to support internal processes and ensure compliance.
• Lead efforts to evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies and tools that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the core banking application systems, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in the core banking systems space, ensuring the organization remains current and competitive in its offerings.

Job Requirement

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Professional certifications can also be beneficial.
• 5-7 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years of experience in the banking or financial industry.
• Relevant experience in managing core banking systems, including application development, maintenance, and support, is also required.
• Strong technical skills in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of core banking application systems.
• Good knowledge of database management systems, middleware, web technologies, and operating systems.
• Project management, team management, and vendor management skills are also essential.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate a team of IT professionals.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills to identify and resolve issues with the Core Banking Application System.
• Strong stakeholder management skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders, including business leaders, customers, regulators, and vendors.
