Power BI Developer with Data Modelling (6+ Years Experience) Key Responsibilities

• Power BI Development & Reporting
• Design, develop, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports for business stakeholders.
• Create data visualizations, KPIs, drill-throughs, bookmarks, and slicers for better insights.
• Implement row-level security (RLS) and manage data access permissions.
• Schedule and manage data refreshes, optimize queries for performance.
• Data Modelling & Transformation
• Build and optimize star/snowflake schema data models for analytics.
• Develop tabular models in Power BI and Analysis Services (SSAS).
• Create calculated columns, measures, and KPIs using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
• Perform advanced data transformations using Power Query (M language).
• Ensure semantic models align with business definitions and KPIs.
• Data Integration & ETL

Integrate Power BI with multiple data sources (SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, SAP, APIs, etc.).

• Work with data engineering teams to design efficient data pipelines.
• Collaborate on data quality, data cleansing, and governance initiatives.
• Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
• Gather business requirements and translate them into BI solutions.
• Work with business users, analysts, and IT teams to deliver accurate insights.
• Provide training and guidance to junior Power BI developers.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of experience in Business Intelligence / Data Modelling.
• Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Gateway.
• Expertise in data modelling (star schema, snowflake, normalized/denormalized).
• Strong hands-on experience in DAX, Power Query (M), SQL.
• Experience in performance tuning and optimization of data models and reports.
• Knowledge of Azure Data services (Synapse, ADF, Data Lake, Databricks) or other cloud platforms.
• Good understanding of ETL concepts and data warehousing.
• Experience in source systems integration (SAP, Salesforce, Oracle, or similar).

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SSAS Tabular Models or Azure Analysis Services (AAS).
• Knowledge of Python / R integration with Power BI.
• Familiarity with Agile methodology and DevOps CI/CD for BI solutions.
• Exposure to AI/ML integration with Power BI.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field.
